Whittier has always been a special place for our family. It started as a place where we would come to visit Gram and spend time with family. We decided to buy a few acres bordering her property so we could continue the family tradition of spending time in the mountains whether it was during the summer, holidays, or even a long weekend. We had a place to start making new memories.

Since our family has enjoyed making memories in the Great Smoky Mountains our hope is that other families can do the same. We have worked hard to build and create four spacious cabins that are perfect for families and friends to gather and make their own memories.

The idea of having a place to spend time together started as one cabin. Then our dreams grew into building a few houses to rent so other families could find the same joy we do here. We have a large extended family and have many friends who told us they would love to have a place where multiple families could vacation together, so we built four cabins. As we were starting to finish the cabins, a sweet neighbor mentioned the idea of adding a space to use as a venue. So, we decided to create a large space for people to come together and celebrate a multitude of events in the barn or on the outside pavilion. We want this to be a place for family get togethers; now we have a place where we hope many magical memories will be made.

Whether it be a wedding, a family reunion, or a corporate event, we are dedicated to making it a time you will never forget. Our hope is that families will enjoy their time at Peacock Reserve and create memories or traditions that last a lifetime.

Steve, the pioneer and creator of this project, is not new to creating masterpieces. Designing their family cabin and their home in Jacksonville Beach are just a few of his designs. He grew up close to his brother and sister who both still reside in North Carolina. He owned and operated his own commercial construction business for a number of years in Lakeland, Florida which is where he met Lisa. Some of his accomplishments include earning multiple degrees from Florida State University, Auburn University, and the University of Florida. In his spare time he enjoys attending the University of Florida and Jacksonville Jaguar football games.

Lisa was born in Miami and moved around growing up to follow her father's budding career. She attended college at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida and this is where she decided to put down roots and raise her three girls Katelyn, Kristen, and Kellie. Lisa was a teacher for many years and that evolved into a reading coach and then a librarian until she decided to retire a few years ago. She currently resides in Jacksonville Beach, Florida but splits her time between the beach and the mountains. She enjoys traveling, her most recent trip being to Barcelona but her favorite thing to do is spend time with her four grandchildren.

Owners, Founders

Katelyn Dolan is a kindergarten teacher in Lakeland, Florida. She attended the University of Florida where she earned both her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in Elementary Education. While in Gainesville she also met her husband, Zach. They have two children: a son, Turner, and a daughter, Mary Kate. Katelyn enjoys traveling to the mountains with her family and can’t wait to make more memories there.

Kristen resides in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida where she works for a Credit Union in the Lending department. Kristen attended University of South Florida for two years then transferred to Florida State College of Jacksonville to be closer to her twin sister, Kellie, and other members of her family. She received her Associates degree and then began working full time. She enjoys spending time with the family and loves being able to travel up to the mountains whenever she has time. Travel has become a big part of her life the past couple of years as she is trying to visit somewhere new every year. When not traveling, working, or spending time with family, she has her puppy, Pippa, who keeps her very busy.

Kellie grew up in Lakeland, FL but currently resides in Jacksonville, FL. Kellie attended the University of North Florida where she earned her bachelor’s degree and met her husband, Palmer. After meeting and getting married they decided to make a home in Jacksonville, FL. Kellie is also a mother to two little girls- Carson and Sutton. She loves to spend time in the mountains and has enjoyed being able to watch her girls grow up and create memories that will last a lifetime at the family cabin.
